The thinking then was that not enough women occupied enough seats.<br /><br />While I can well imagine this was interpreted as a case of sexual discrimination, it's more likely that women just weren't interested. I know I'm not interested in becoming an MP and I'm a man!<br /><br />So they tried to make the numbers up (somehow), more women made it through, many of which were "fast-tracked" and the whole thing played right into the hands of the "Woman just can't cut it at the top" crowd.<br /><br />It's sad, and sexual discrimination will undoubtedly play its part, but to say that women just aren't good networkers is rubbish and unfair.<br /><br />If you'll pardon my crude analogy, networking is, by and large, a lads game, much like "writing" your name in the snow. Few women can compete on that basis.<br /><br />That aside, I've been to more than enough networking events and see a good contingent of women in the middle of the room talking business and not magnetized to the water cooler.Wayne Smallmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06529617511571532054noreply@blogger.com
